Tycoon Kickoff

Lay out your tycoon plot and plan the loop that makes a tycoon a tycoon.

This is it. The capstone. Everything you’ve learned, variables, loops, tables, functions, events, GUI, leaderstats, all of it points right here. You are going to build a tycoon, and by the end of this course it’s going to be YOUR game, not a copy of a tutorial. Let’s go.

First, the big idea. Every tycoon, no matter how fancy, runs on one simple loop:

-- The tycoon loop, the heartbeat of the whole genre:
-- 1. A DROPPER spawns cash on a timer.
-- 2. The cash slides to a COLLECTOR.
-- 3. Touching the collector adds to your CASH.
-- 4. You BUY upgrades that drop more, or drop faster.
-- 5. Repeat, and watch the numbers explode.

That’s the engine. If you can feel why that loop is satisfying (small money becomes big money becomes huge money), you already understand tycoons better than most people who play them.

Today is the setup day, the foundation pour. You’ll lay out a plot: a base to stand on, a spot for your first dropper, a path for cash to travel, and a collector pad. Then you’ll wire up a Cash stat using the exact leaderstats code from the last course, because a tycoon is just a leaderboard with a world wrapped around it.

Don’t rush to make money flow yet, that’s the next two lessons. For now, build the stage. Run the checklist, press Play, and when your plot is laid out and Cash reads 0 on your screen, you’ve officially started building a real game. Next up: making that dropper rain money.

Build this in Roblox Studio, then check off each step:
